Bagels and all the food we miss

We have been doing well recently satisfying our food cravings. Alicia in particular has had a lot, most stemming from her upbringing in Newton Mass: kosher bagels and kosher dill pickles.

She found sutiable pickles at the Subway in Kuala Lumpur (and regrets not buying a bottle of them). And today, drumroll please, Alicia had her first real bagel (read actually boiled, etc...) with cream cheese! This is something she has been missing since we left America.

We also had a suprisingly good bottle of champers with dinner at a local resturant here (Nomad). Alicia and I used to spoil ourselves with breakfast-in-bed + bubbly every Sunday. Generally speaking, we are rather spoiled with time for each other. And we are often eating great breakfasts together (at least here in Ubud). But we've had no sparkling wine since we were in Zurich. The bubbles in Zurich, funny enough, came out of 6 oz. aluminum cans which we carried around town (as you can booze on the street there)!

Alicia will still need a stack of proper bagels on arrival in Seattle (if anyone has recommends on the best Seattle bagel, please let us know), but at least now she is on the road to chewy-bread recovery.
