Car Post: The Rabbit is not dead

A post for my fellow lovers of automobiles, especially of the VW variety:

South Africa is overrun with Rabbits. AKA, the boxy Volkswagen wonder of the 80s. VW apparently moved all the tooling for the Rabbit down here to South Africa and has been producing it as the "Citi" here for years. They are still turning them out with as many sub-models as possible, but all with the exact same body as the Rabbit we all remember. You can apparently get them with all sorts of engines, 1.3L, 1.4L, 1.6L, and 1.8L. There are countless trim levels, with the nice new models having an interior that looks very much like our 2000 Golf. The cars are everywhere, and are also thus a popular theft target. Since everyone has them, everyone needs parts. So apparently in the townships there are Citi-only chop shops that will tear a car down in a couple of hours.
